Robert Adeland, MBA 

President

Prior to establishing Marketing Strategies & Solutions in 1997, Robert worked both sides of the marketing desk – as a client and as a Vice-President of Client Services with a major Canadian advertising agency. His career has spanned positions in industrial and retail marketing management as well as extensive advertising agency experience in client service and strategic planning. Robert’s personal philosophy of giving back to the community sets the example for our company and staff to take an active role in supporting a number of not-for-profit organizations.

Mina Thaler 

Vice President & Production Manager

Every company needs a talented individual who can multi-task with proven expertise in several business disciplines. That’s exactly why Mina Thaler has provided our company since 1998. What distinguishes Mina is her total commitment to the dual role as our Vice President and the detail-centred responsibilities of Production Manager. Mina’s administrative leadership ensures that our creative and management team function in harmony and that project work flows through the agency in an organized manner. Her strong focus and customer-first approach ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.

Lyn Ibson 

Creative Director

A respected London copywriter for more than 30 years, Lyn has served as Creative Director for award-winning creative teams throughout the region. His passion for clarity in defining creative goals, targets and tactics has been instrumental to the development of effective branding and campaign strategies in industrial, business-to-business and high tech sectors, and in support several high-profile charitable organizations. Recognized as an inventive communications planner and writer, Lyn fills a vital leadership role in creative direction for all of the agency’s current and prospective clients.

Karen O’Donnell 

Production Coordinator

After joining us as a traditional administrative assistant, Karen’s appetite for new challenges quickly led her to grow into several specialized roles providing support and “value added” to every aspect of our services. Karen is our primary liaison with the dozens of media sales, production staff and editors whose publications feature news stories and advertising from our studio. She also maintains numerous databases and statistical reports used in our strategic planning and web monitoring programs. Duties in job tracking, customer service and proofreading round out Karen’s unique place as our friendly all-purpose facilitator.

Erin Pienaar 

Administrative Assistant

Coming from a fast-paced environment in Toronto, Erin brings our London office a friendly can-do attitude and excellent organizational skills as she keeps our staff and clients connected and on the same page. Her educational background in English and publishing aid her not only with her proofreading duties on client projects but in her day-to-day communications with our many allies in the media trade. Maintaining databases, assisting with tactical media plans as well as providing exemplary customer service are just a few more of the talents that make Erin a vital and versatile part of our team.

Jim Gruber 

Account Director

Building on his years of experience with clients across Canada and the U.S., Jim is the ideal “man for all seasons” to help clients navigate the fine points of integrated communications. Jim’s background includes a colourful mosaic reflected in his unique combination of strategic planning, creative vision and project management in industries ranging from hard goods distribution to science-based products and services. It all comes together when Jim delivers on the “big picture” clients are looking for with powerful branding and precise targeting of customer-driven messages.

Mark has seen his trade evolve from “old school” finished art production to the digital prepress technologies of today, but throughout the years, he has always brought the same craftsman-like approach to every project. We (and our clients) rely on Mark to deliver on the full range of graphic projects, from catalogs to posters, with accuracy, efficiency and with an experienced eye for effective layout and typography.

A natural-born storyteller, Richard excels in exploring the human side of heavy equipment marketing. Established as a well-versed journalist covering the local arts and cultural community, Richard joined us to engage, person to person, with the people who purchase and use the products made by our clients. His outside perspective allows a wider view of what these products truly mean to then users, so he can share their personal stories and insights with readers throughout their industry.

Brian Lowe is well known throughout the heavy equipment industry as a knowledgeable resource as it relates to construction equipment. In his position with Marketing Strategies & Solutions, Brian specializes in the development of construction equipment case studies, operator’s manuals and parts books.  His experience provides rare insight into the challenges faced by those in the industry, backed by a practical technical foundation in equipment and manufacturing processes. His writing style, combined with his background, creates fascinating and engaging reads.
