Focus On “Effectiveness” Earns Awards For London Communications Agency

London, ON –Two communications projects developed for clients by Marketing Strategies & Solutions of London, Ontario, have been recognized with honors in the 2010 Summit Marketing Effectiveness Awards (MEA).

A program to commemorate the recently closed Volvo Motor Graders factory in Goderich, after 100 years of operation, was singled out for the MEA Platinum Award in the corporate communications. A new corporate identity and website for Recyclers Source earned a Silver Award in the rebranding category. The Volvo project had been recognized previously by the Summit Creative Awards, a separate competition that judges entries on originality and creative excellence.

The Summit MEA competition is based on the premise that the goal of marketing communications is to change, influence or reinforce a target audience’s knowledge, attitudes or beliefs. Unlike most award programs, judges for MEA awards can recognize any number of entries that meet the criteria for meeting specified goals. Of 544 entries submitted from 11 countries, only 14% of the submissions in this year’s competition received awards.

The awards are presented by the Summit International Awards, an organization created in 1994 specifically to honor achievement by small and medium-sized advertising agencies.

On receiving notification of the awards, Robert Adeland, President of Marketing Strategies & Solutions, commented, “These are the awards that we value from the industry. The MEAs represent work that delivers impact to our clients’ bottom line.”

Since the inauguration of the Summit MEA program in 2006, nine projects by Marketing Strategies & Solutions have won the awards.

The firm is one of a number of advertising agencies in North America to be admitted as members of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

Major clients in Canada and the United States include Volvo Road Machinery, SENNEBOGEN America, Titan Trailers, Winkle Industries, SMS Rents, Sommers Motor Generator Sales, Ammann Compaction (Canada) and Champion Motor Graders. The agency also serves numerous manufacturers and business services local to London, Ontario.
